If you now want to learn how to swim in the yoga currents, then first of all, welcome! It is indeed one thing simply to be a form of exercise but,you should also be aware that Yoga is life. Right? Please take it step by step; this is a journey you have just begun. “Do I have to be as flexible as a pretzel?” you may ask Yourself at present – read here!
Peaceful with the way your whole body wakes up, lying on a yoga mat – Can this sounds lovely? Yes, indeed. No less than the search for peace within ourselves,Yoga is.Almost there is now no need at all for us just because we now live in such a busy world, to figure out how not how not to fall asleep or be fed alive upon fishes eating both hands of bread requiring not just one but two tables full of everything laid in front of us. That much is probably the escape part.
Now let us get into mindfulness. Mindfulness is probably already a buzzword of some kind for everyone now. What does it really mean in yoga though? To be here in the present. We mean being fullyand completely occupied with what’s happening right now.
Do the yoga poses and you can have a date not only with your body – but also your head! This is like pressing the pause button and staying yourself for a moment. A small getaway for your mind, to be there instead of heading out on vacation. No need to leave one’s home.
There is also a mental flexibility and physical flexibility induced from yoga. Yoga helps us to be flexible not just in mood but also body. Sometimes life can throw a curve ball;our bodies do not always agree with our wishes.
Do you remember when you were learning for the first time how to ride a bike easier? Probably you felt at first a bit unsteady, but that was soon over. With Yoga, to begin with, the poses might make you laugh or feel queasy. Yet soon you will gain a sense of balance and perspective.
One day I tried “Tree Pose” and ended up more like a wind-blown sapling. Very funny, too! And yet I learned one thing from it: progress is always better than perfection.
Now it’s time to talk equipment: you don’t need expensive mats and the latest in yoga pants. All you really need is comfort and lots of freedom for movement. A pair of good stretchy pants with a top that won’t bind you but permits room for stretching without becoming baggy is just fine.
Make sure your mat has a good grip so you won’t drift all over mother’s floor with your dogs. Take my oath! Investing a bit more when setting your budget into a stronger mat for extra years will save you money in the long run.
The most friendly to beginners isn’t going to get hurt are those designed for beginners. Starting slowly with a gentle hand they lead the beginner gently and surely into confidence.
Online platforms are a fine option if studios feel intimidating at first or if you like the convenience more than commuting in our harried daily lives!
Finally remember that patience pays off tenfold if venturing into anything new in life but perhaps most obviously in areas involving personal growth/mutual understanding – aspects inherent to yogic practice itself whether an individual event amidst quiet parks/gardens near where you live or just relaxing within your own home without interference from outside the world at all awaits a fresh exploration will be had each time practising.
